2012

Happy 2012, Everyone!!

Instead of having one New Year's goal of "losing weight" like everyone else, I felt like I should have a million goals - not just for the New Year, but for a life time! And I am not going to be one of those people who makes a goal but can't pursue it.

Here's what I'm a do:

  1. Go to the gym (which you pay a $30 membership every single first of the damn month) more than twice weekly. Strive for five.

  2. Eat in more often, you have a ton of amazing cookbooks and you're the shit at baking bread from scratch, I'm sure you can think of something.

  3. Start saving money. Your savings account is not there solely to bail you out of overdraws, but to help you SAVE UP for the future. Imagine that.

  4. Become more patient with others. Just breathe and hold on.

  5. Move out of your mother's house. It's been fun having someone else pay the bills, but alas, it is time to move on, young one.

  6. Stop responding to my ex-boyfriend's nostalgic texts. Seconds after he says "I miss you," he literally says, "Eff you, I'm glad I dumped you" for you simply saying, "It's not mutual."

  7. Get a job. You're starting to search for jobs in the Erie area now. Although your dream was to move to Pittsburgh, but you want a career which forms you into a better professional - how odd is it that you're currently over $16,000 in debt upon graduation from paying for courses that have barely developed you? Gotta love college.

  8. Don't get pregnant. You don't have time.

  9. Get off "The Facebook." It shows you nothing but how well off your former classmates are, or it shows you that the weird girl from geometry is engaged and you're still single.

  10. Start to love others. I've discovered it's not that hard. However, if they are a sucky person to you, you don't have to love them. Which leads me to number 11.

  11. Let go of any friend who is only there to hurt you. We all know someone who is so miserable and pathetic they constantly have to try and bring you down. Not today, hombre.

  12. Reconnect with your family. You're stuck with them for life - get to know them better!

  13. Let boys take you out on dates. Hello, free meal, free movies, free.... whatever! Oh, and it's a great way to get to know someone.

  14. Quote "Bridesmaids" every day.

  15. Take time to hang out with your mother. Even if it means sitting through another Bruce Springsteen concert.

  16. Cry, laugh, smile, believe while watching Glee.

  17. Pay your credit card off immediately. Legit, immediately. Bad credit is so embarrassing and won't get you a new car (which you desperately need).
It should be hard to accomplish these things knowing that they will make me such a better person.

What are your plans for 2012?

Project 365

Okay, so I saw this idea on an e-mail from WordPress (creating a magazine on there, I promise I am not a traitor).
The question is,
"If you were going to blog about one thing for an entire year, what would you choose?"

At first I thought, "duh my daily activities." But when I think long and hard about them, I wake up, go to school, go to work, go to bed, repeat, etc. etc. What a boring thing to blog about. Nobody cares?

Then I figured I could blog about my favorite TV show... which was American Horror Story, which just had it's season finale last week. So how about Glee? No I already have a Tumblr for that. Celebrities? ...Eh, I am not too fascinated in boob jobs and face lifts and remarkably untalented people who are more famous than I will ever be.

OK, traveling it is... I travel to Pittsburgh about twice a year, so that makes for a great blog (long eye roll.)

What about crafting you ask? Well I only get to my crafts once in a damn blue moon (yum, beer). I love art and interior design and all that jazz, but I unfortunately cannot make my life style out of it just yet. So now what can I blog about for a year straight?

Well?!

I guess I'll just have to do what I've been doing. Blogging for a whole year about every thing I possibly can.

I resolve this new year to provide more blogging about more EVERYTHING. I owe it to myself and to my blog.

love ya'll! Happy 2012!

Keep on blogging!

I've been an angel all year O:)

Folks, I have updated quite poorly lately. However, to keep in the Christmas spirit, here is a quiz I found on Katie's blog spot. She has an AWESOME adventurous blog, check it out!

CHRISTMAS QUIZ
1. Egg nog or hot chocolate? Born and raised on egg nog. Yum (:
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? Oh he wraps them alright, in LEOPARD PRINT wrapping paper he got for 50% off at Hobby Lobby ... he's obsessed ;)
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? White to match the snow (or lack there of)
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No, but it will be a new tradition when I have my own place
5. When do you put your decorations up? Well when I would come home for Thanksgiving break, I'd do it the Sunday morning before I left. This year I waited until the first of December since I'm home.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Peanut freaking brittle and toffee. Oh my, my.
7. Favorite holiday memory as a child? Christmas at my mom's, then with the cousins, then with my daddy. Christmas was a drawn out thing for us!
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? ...... What truth about Santa? That he's an extremely busy guy so my mom has to help him buy gifts sometimes? He's definitely real, so...
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We go to our family friends house & open mounds of gifts from each other. It's SUCH a blast. Can't wait for this year (:
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? White lights, candy canes, new ornament sets, old ornament sets, my collection of Barbie ornaments, an angel or star on top, and a nativity set underneath with a hidden baby Jesus until Christmas day!
11. Snow! Love it or dread it? I love snow. I'm really missing it this year :(
12. Can you ice skate? Not anymore, but I'd love to do it again!
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Obviously my Barbie Folding Pretty House from when I was about 6 years old.

15. What is your favorite holiday dessert? Pie! Dutch apple, mainly!
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Christmas Eve (:
17. What tops your tree? This year it's a beautiful angel in white. She's been our tree topper since I was a little girl, aside one or two years in which we put up a star.
18. Which do you prefer: giving or receiving? Giving, solely because I am always so anxious for people to open and love my gifts. I almost always spill the beans before anyone opens their present.
19. Candy canes: yuck or yummy? Not a fan.
20. Favorite Christmas show? A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation, Elf, and The Santa Claus.
21. Saddest Christmas song? Silent Night. 22 years and counting I have sobbed during it.
22. What is your favorite Christmas song? "Santa Baby," "Joy to the World," "Silent Night," and, the Mariah Carey classic, "All I Want for Christmas is You."

While I am waiting to hear back from my potential internships (I got a call back from one!) I decided to still try to keep my blog interesting. While hanging out on 20sb, I discovered Kristin's Blog of Shenanigans. She had a list of her 20 most played songs on her iPod and I was impressed by her eclectic taste! So here it is. The list of my 20 most played songs on my iPod, some old, some new. These are the songs I am constantly belting my lungs out to. The songs I dance to and drive to, the songs that I think I'm in the music video for....
